Job Overview:
The Carpenter supports field operations on commercial construction projects by executing skilled carpentry and related construction work. This role collaborates closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and fellow field staff to ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, schedules, and safety regulations. The Carpenter plays a key role in maintaining jobsite quality, organization, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Execution & Craftsmanship: Execute carpentry work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Perform layout, installation, and finish work with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring completed work meets MZN quality standards.
Maintenance & Repair Support: Perform interior repairs and finish work, including drywall repair, laminate repair, and interior painting, as well as basic, non-licensed plumbing and electrical repairs. Assess work requests, identify issues, and recommend appropriate solutions to support project needs.
Trustworthy Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisors and project team members regarding work progress, constraints, and jobsite conditions. Provide reliable updates that support coordination and informed decision-making.
Mindful Coordination: Coordinate daily work activities with other trades to support efficient sequencing and minimize disruption to ongoing operations. Prioritize assigned tasks thoughtfully, considering safety, schedule, and overall project impact.
Quality & Safety Assurance: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free jobsite in compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Perform all work with a commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement in support of MZN’s pursuit of excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience performing carpentry work in a construction or maintenance environment.
Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors.
Reliable transportation and possession of standard personal hand tools required for the trade.
Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders or scaffolding, and lift up to 60 pounds unassisted.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on commercial construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Experience coordinating work with multiple trades in an active jobsite environment.
